    Ashley Dopson 2022 Ebon Dooley Honoree Jack Sinclair Visual Artist tapestrymurals@gmail.com http://www.ashleydpaints.com/ Ashley Dopson is a conceptual fine artist who uses her art to create intimate moments in public spaces. Her murals can be seen in many corners of the city — “Dream Big: The Phases of Ms. Kamala Harris” on Cascade and Beecher, “Herstory: Heroines of the West End” at the Goodwill on Ralph David Abernathy, and “Fish Are Jumpin’ and the Cotton Is High” at the Krog Tunnel entrance to name a few. Raised in Atlanta, she credits her early childhood in New Orleans for her colorful palette and rich textures.     tenisio seanima Fresh Oasis Garden Manager Justice 40 Cohort Liaison Studio Artist freshoasis@artsxchange.org tenisio seanima, the inaugural Urban Agriculture Manager for East Point, GA possesses an unwavering passion for creating positive change, which earned him the reputation as a service-driven leader across the Southeastern United States. During the past two decades, he has cultivated extensive experience in the arena of cooperative development, food policy, agricultural sales, leadership, mass media, and social activism. tenisio began his career path in agriculture by serving as the owner of Nature's Candy Farms and the Sales Manager of Truly Living Well Center for Natural Urban Agriculture, respectively. He also spent the period between 2015 and 2019 serving as the Farmer Services Coordinator for Georgia Organics, Inc., the Procurement Associate for the Common Market Southeast, and as a Program Coordinator for HABESHA, Inc, all of which are notable agricultural organizations operating in the state of Georgia. In addition to a B.S. in Green and Sustainable Enterprise Management from the University of Phoenix, tenisio is Master Gardener Certified by HABESHA, Inc. and he’s certified on the USDA's National Organic Program rules for Produce and Livestock by the International Organic Inspector's Association. He is also a certified produce-safety trainer with the Produce Safety Alliance. In the near future, he aspires to revive his family’s farm, the August Long Estate, which has withstood the test of time since 1882. When he isn’t immersed in his multifaceted agriculture career, tenisio enjoys wild foraging, practicing Egyptian yoga, and even DJing. Above all, he loves his family and the quality time he gets to spend with them. tenisio is a loving husband and proud father of one spectacular daughter and two amazing sons. Samuel , Timothy Short , Kristian Simone , Lisa Tuttle , Ric Washington , Kristan Woolford , Keith Yates EXHIBITION JUDGE Dr. Fahamu Pecou Dr. Fahamu Pecou is an interdisciplinary artist and scholar whose works combine observations on hip-hop, fine art and popular culture. Pecou’s paintings, performance art, and academic work addresses concerns around contemporary representations of Black men and how these images impact both the reading and performance of Black masculinity. Fahamu received his BFA at the Atlanta College of Art in 1997 and a Ph.D. from Emory University in 2018. Dr. Pecou exhibits his art worldwide in addition to lectures and speaking engagements at colleges and universities. ______________ “WHOSE AMERICA IS IT, ANYWAY?” seeks artists whose artwork addresses current racial, social and political struggles. This country is experiencing another period of greater racial consciousness and increased social, political and racial turbulence. Recent events have yet again shown the reality of the shifting power struggle that has been repeating in the country since its founding. How can we, as artists, create and present artwork that sparks critical thinking, empowers alternative narratives, and inspires ourselves and our communities to be more aware and compassionate to the struggle for equity and human rights in America and the world? Established in 2001, GLAHR is a community organization that develops grassroots leadership in all Latino immigrant communities in the state of Georgia. Over the past 10 years, GLAHR has established a strong network of community members, who has been working with the community. This network develops and implements strategies at the local and state levels to defend and promote the human and civil rights of immigrants in Georgia.
